The herbs produced are of impeccable quality, reflecting a commitment to excellence in every step of the process. Herb extracts are crafted to be stable, though their natural production may lead to some clumping after the bottle is opened or in humid environments - this applies to standard granules as well. The exceptional quality, purity, and efficacy of the herbs more than justify this minor risk.
Please note that the single herb line is considered a “project,” and the entire Chinese herbal materia medica is not stocked.
To achieve the purest products possible, Classical Pearls avoids traditional granulation processes, which often involve the use of starches or dextrin in large quantities. Instead, herbs are decocted in hot water, concentrated into a thick syrup, and then slowly dried before being pulverized. The resulting powder represents an optimal extract concentration of the herb, which often does not conform to the typical 5:1 ratios found in modern granules. Since herbs naturally tend to solidify, an excipient is used to prevent clumping. Rather than relying on potentially allergenic corn or potato starches or maltodextrin, a high-quality organic soluble quinoa extract is added to stabilize the powder and adjust concentration ratios. Organic quinoa was chosen for its nutritional benefits, lack of gluten, and absence of other common allergens. In Chinese medicine, quinoa is considered warming and tonifying to the Kidneys and Pericardium.
Extracts are produced at concentrations of either 5:1 or 10:1, with some exceptions that naturally extract at lower concentrations, which are clearly labeled. The 10:1 extracts are bottled with a distinct label design to differentiate them from the more common 5:1 extracts. All single herbs are available in 100-gram bottles; a bottle of 10:1 extract contains twice as much herb as a 5:1 extract. The choice to produce 10:1 extracts allows for the use of less organic quinoa in herbs that naturally extract at high concentrations. For dosing, use half as much of the 10:1 extract as you would of a 5:1 extract or granule.
Ongoing experimentation with innovative processing technologies continues, with the aim of producing the highest quality, purest, and most stable herbal powders available. These powders are made for clinical use, offering an herbal line of unmatched quality worth exploring.
