The ITM (Institute of Traditional Medicine), founded and still led by Subhuti Dharmananda, PhD, developed the Seven Forests series in 1986, originally intended for use in its own clinic. These herbal preparations contain either powdered herbs, dried hot water extracts, or a combination of both, depending on the formula and the nature of the included herbs.
The herbs used are sourced from China. The tablets are available in 700 mg, 750 mg, and 800 mg per tablet (corresponding to the amount of herbs) and contain a small proportion of excipients (gum resin, cellulose, and stearates) necessary for tablet production.
The book A Bag of Pearls provides detailed information about the products and offers important background knowledge on the Seven Forests formulations. It is available in both English and German.
Most Seven Forests herbal formulas are based on the traditional principles of Chinese Medicine. With over 130 available formulas, Seven Forests offers one of the most extensive ranges of modern Chinese herbal formulas in tablet form. For more than 35 years, these products have been sold in Europe and the USA.
All Seven Forests products and sizes are available at BIOS.
