We offer a wide range of products in the form of dry extracts and granules, categorized as follows:
Mono-Granules
Bios provides around 500 different mono-granules in extract form for Chinese phytotherapy, including the complete range from Kaiser Pharmaceuticals (KP). These extracts are produced in modern laboratories under GMP conditions, using laminar airflow and following the guidelines of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. After production, KP conducts a thorough analysis, followed by an additional safety check by an independent Western laboratory.
To produce 100g of extract, 500g of raw material is used, from which a decoction is prepared and then concentrated. Minerals are an exception, as no decoction is made from them. Additionally, KP offers a wide selection of different extract combinations, all available through Bios. However, we prefer working with mono-extracts because this provides the prescriber with an absolute guarantee of the formulation's composition. It is important to note that formulations, even with the same name, can vary in composition depending on whether they come from KP or Min Tong Herbs. A formulation created by prescription is not only fully transparent and individualized but also often more cost-effective than a standard product.
Mixed Granules
Simple herbs are provided to our customers as dry extracts or granules, typically for creating or adjusting a desired formulation. You have the choice between a KP combination or your own formulation. Our range includes an extensive list of "prepared decoctions" from Kaiser Pharmaceuticals, which are based on commonly used formulations where the herbs have been processed into a decoction.
However, you are not limited to this list. Bios can create any conceivable formulation from the individual components. The introduction to this chapter explains why this approach is preferred. Please indicate the source literature when creating a prescription.
Capsules
As an alternative to tablets, both individual herbs and mixtures can be encapsulated. This ensures precise dosing and makes administration easier. There are different dosage options per capsule. If not otherwise specified on the prescription, Bios standardly produces 250 mg capsules. Capsules with 375 mg or 500 mg content are also available.
Tablets
Bios offers over 200 different Chinese herbal formulations in tablet form, which are made from granules. Tablets are ideal when the formulation does not need to be adjusted and are very user-friendly. This significantly enhances compliance, especially in long-term treatment.
